Summer Vacation

It's good-bye for now! Our last day of school is tomorrow. Then we're off on summer vacation. Many of us are moving up to another class as fifth graders, but the rest of us will be in Mrs. Handy's class again next year as fourth graders. Talk to you then!

Room 8

Time with Abbey

On Thursday, I went home with Abbey. She and her brother were going to sleep outside in a tent on Saturday, but it did not work out. Abbey got scared because she heard weird noises coming from the basement. We watched the lightning and thunder that night and counted right after the lightning until the thunder started. Then we knew how far it was from us. One time, it was seven miles away. I got scared!

Laura and Me

May 19, 2008

The fresh, mountain air. The cool breeze hitting my cheek as I swung back and forth. I went home today with Laura. She has soft and gentle blue eyes. She also has freckles that run across her face. She has two brothers. Allan is twenty years old, and is twice Laura's age. The other one is named Josh. He is twenty-five years old, and the oldest. He is a quarter of a century old! Laura's mom is very short and is a health assistant at a school. Her dad has two of the dirtiest jobs in the world! He and Josh are volunteer fire fighters. And Laura's brothers help her dad in logging. Laura has a sister that is in college, studying to be a nurse. She has a lot of homework. I've been thinking that the more homework the better! I've heard that she is kind of bossy. She is twenty-three years old.

May 21, 2008

After school, Laura took me to a softball game. Her team won, 8 to 1! After that we all went home and Laura did her homework. Then she told me that tomorrow another kid would have me. I started to cry. Then Laura wiped away my tears and said that it would be all right. To cheer me up, we grabbed some hot chocolate and watched tv. I think I'll miss Laura the most!

Megan and I

May 15

First, Megan and I went home from school. Then we played outside on the play structure. Then we made popsicle with just pop and put them in the refrigerator. After dinner, we had to go to bed.

May 16

Megan woke me up and then we cooked. Then we helped her dad paint. For the rest of the weekend we had to paint. It was fun. We got a little tanned when it was so beautiful outside. It was the best weekend!

May 19

When we woke up and got dressed Megan said it was time to go to school. Then I went back to Mrs. Handy.

Track, Dogs, and Fun

May 12

When Alyssa walked out ot the school building, she, Leila, Sascha, Ella, and Kali (Alyssa's twin) got on the bus because Leila's mom was going to take them to track practice. Leila, Sascha, and Alyssa all sat with me in one seat (smoosh)! When we got to Leila's house, we jumped on the trampoline and changed. Then, we were ready to go. Oh yea! I almost forgot! I met Cholee and Foster, Leila's dogs. Almost everybody at track did six 200s (halfway around the track) and three perimeters! That's a lot of running! When track was over, we went home and had dinner. When Alyssa went into the shower, she gave me to Myah, her little sister. Now, she's my official babysitter and my best buddy!

May 13

I woke at 6:15 in Myah's arms. Oohh! Mr. Rogers Neighborhood was on. My favorite show! I think that I'm going to have fun today! While Alyssa was at school, Myah and I read books and drew, and I took long naps. I also played super heroes! When Alyssa got home, I was taking a nap and dreaming of cheese and crackers. When I got up I got a snack. Not cheese and crackers, but just as good.

May 14

Today was a great day! A very great sunny day! I was having fun with Myah, Alyssa, Kali, and Brutus (Alyssa's dog). I've met a lot of dogs this week!

Happy Feet visits Lara's House

Lara's house was awesome. She had lots of rooms for me to stay in, she even made me a big round bed, with pillows in it. I got to jump around her bedroom because it was so big a dozen people could fit into it.
She also took me to the hydroslide. It was really fun. After that we went to the beach. I was the first one in the water, it was really, really warm. When we got home we had a BBQ. I had a beer, and it was yummy. Then we went to bed.

Basketball with Ray

Today, Ray andI watched the basketball game between the Lakers and the Utah Jazz. Utah won the game. Then we played basketball. Ray's grandma spent the night, and it was fun. Then we saw Ray's mom. That was fun too. We sang and danced and played video games. After dinner, we went to bed.

On Monday, we went to Crown Point and met with Taylor's cousin. There was an elevator that went down under the ground. It looked like we were sinking. Then we went home and watched tv. The next day, we just played the computer.

Fun with Kelly

May 1

Mrs. Handy gave me to Kelly. Kelly said hi to some people before we got on the bus. Angelina was her neighbor. They played Concentration. When we got off the bus, we went to her mom's house and met sixteen stuffed animals. Kelly took off my shirt, because I was getting hot. She read some of her journal to me. Then we watched tv. When I got cold, she put my shirt back on. We were hungry, so her mom made a quesadilla. Kelly has lots of neat rocks and she gave me one. Then we watched some more tv.

May 2

We watched a movie called Homeward Bound. Then we ate a fudge bar. The movie was sad and happy. Kelly and I went with her mom to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Then we went to her dad's work. There are nice people there. Then we went to McDonald's.

May 3

When we woke up, Kelly felt sick. She got better after a few hours. All we did all day was eat, sleep, and watch DVDs.

May 4

When we got up, Kelly's brother and sister were there. We went to the movies and then we had a picnic under a big red tree.

Baseball and Robbie

April 24

I came home with Robbie. When we got to his house, he got ready for his baseball game. When we got there, they played and Robbie's team won, 6-4. Then we went home and ate dinner. Robbie's dog almost bit me, but Robbie saved me! Then we went to bed.

April 25

The next day, Robbie woke me up. We ate breakfast and then Robbie cleaned the house with his sister Lindsay. It was not fun. But when he got done, we went to watch Robbie's brother, Steven, play baseball. They played a double header. The first game, they lost 6-2. The second game they won 8-0. Then we went to Robbie's sister's softball game. They won 10-2.

April 26

The next day, I woke up and had breakfast. Then we mowed the lawn. He let me ride with him. Then we went to Robbie's baseball game. Robbie hit a home run! The we went to his sister's game. They lost 10-8.

Leila

April 21

Today, Leila had track practice. She had to take Kali, Alyssa, Sascha, and Ella to practice. We first had to stop at home. Leila has a puppy named Chloe. After we got changed, we had to go to track. Then we came home and slept.

April 22

Leila had track again today. But his time, we rode in Ella's car and she had to bring her dog in the car. Luckily I didn't get bitten.

April 23
Today, Leila came home from school. An hour later, we went to her sister's play practice for A Midsummer's Night Dream. After that, we came home, read a book, and went to bed.

Nathan's Cat

When Nathan took me home on Thursday, we didn't do much. On the second day, Nathan's parents threw a party. They had lots of food and also lots of nice people. Nathan went to his friend's house while his parents had the party. I played with Nathan's cat most of the time.

Play Practice

April 13

Today, Clare took me home. We were in a rush. After dinner, we had to hop in the car and go to play practice. It was so fun! When no one was looking, I danced and sang.

April 14

When I woke up, I saw Cowie the Cow staring at me. Then I jumped up and did a little boogie. Then I gave her a big smooch on the cheek.

April 15

After school, we had to go to play practice. Then I got to see Clare's program. It was really good. Then play practice.

April 16

After school, I think you know what - play practice! Friday is opening night. I hope that I can see it. The play is A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Rock Musical. It has Beatles' music in it.

Lillian and Kiwi

April 10, 2008

Lillian took me home Thursday and also her friend Jenna. We played at the park for about two hours. Then when we got home and Jenna went home, we watched tv and played video games. Then we went to bed.

Lillian woke me up and ate breakfast, but her sister Violet came screaming downstairs. The washing machine had water squirting out of it. Lillian's dad cleaned up the puddle. Lillian took a shower and got ready to go. We're spending the night at her grandma's house. First we went to her dance lesson.

It's Lillian's dad's birthday. We had cake and played Bingo. Then we went back to her mom's house. I like Lillian's house, and I hope whoever I go with next is fun and adventurous too!

Fun with MacKenna

April 7, 2008

We got home from school and MacKenna did her piano. I sat and watched her do it. She was very good. Emily has been stealing me away, but MacKenna always gets me back every time. MacKenna says we will go to Awanas. I am very excited!

Later-

Emily sent me a kiss and went to bed. MacKenna said that we don't have to go to bed until 9:00. We are watching Wheel of Fortune. I have had a relaxing day - first on Mrs. Handy's desk staring at Clare and thinking about Cowie and the beautiful children we will have. When I found out that I was going to MacKenna's I was excited for two reasons. One - an adventure, and two - a new friend.

April 8, 2008

We have been having so much fun. Last night, I crept out of bed and I opened the toy box. I found my very own shoes. I wore them and stomped around the house. By the way, they have a huge house. Anyway, it was 6:40 when I got back to MacKenna's room. She was gone and I could not find her. I started to think about how people rot and die, but then I heard the water go on in the bathroom. I ran in there and found her turning on the water. She saw my shoes. I thought she'd let me keep them on. Then she looked at me and said, "Where did you get those?" She wanted me to take them off, but then said that I could wear them until I left.

April 9, 2008

Today we saw MacKenna's cat. It is so cute! Last night I snuck out of MacKenna's room and found gloves. They were too big. I went to watch a movie and I picked Peter Pan. I got Pixie Dust and I went on top of the piano and flew through the air. I was just getting back to the room when all of the Pixie Dust went away and I fell on my right foot.

Dana and Kiwi

Today, Dana took me to her play practice. I watched Dana play with her friends, Clare and Sascha. Then, when it was one of their turns to go on stage, I saw them rush up and do their thing. Dana told me that the play was Mid Summer Night's Dream. It sounded very interesting.

When Dana took me to play practice, I asked Clare how Cowie the Cow was. Clare said that she was great! I talked to Clare a lot and before I knew it, it was time to go!

Dana told me that she would go skiing today! But then she told me that I would not be able to come. I asked her why and she explained to me that it would be too cold for me at Mt. Hood. I wouldn't be alone though; I would stay with Dana's mom.

Happy feet at Julias house

Happy Feet is so cool!

On Thursday I went to Julia house and I went straight to her room to see all her other friends like me. She has the coolest room I've ever seen. She has the best friends and she has the bounciest bed ever. She took ten photos of me. I loved playing with her friends toy horse and drinking and playing.

Happy Feet at Greer's House

For Monday and Tuesday I was at Greer's house. The first thing we did when we got to Greer's house we played on her trampoline then on the computer. Greer asked me if I wanted a bed to sleep on for in the night I said, "yes please". So she got her first blanket that she ever got she got another blanket then a basket and she put them all together and then TA-DA there was my bed. I had a little cuddle with her cats (Gracie and Katie.) The first night that I was with Greer I got a little scared so I slept with Greer for the first night. On Tuesday I played at home with Greer's toys while Greer was at school. But on Tuesday night I got to see a really cool Tae-kwon-do class that Greer and her sister Lauren do. On Wednesday I had to go back to her school. I had a really cool time at Greer's house and we did lots of really cool things together.

Life with Rowan

I was so excited to go home with Rowan. I met for the first time my cousin Fred the moose. He showed me around. I have never seen so many stuffed animals in my life. Fred told me about Lion, without any courage, and Kira, the monkey, who wanted to get engaged. I said that I was already engaged, so don't get any ideas! I also saw huge animals. Rowan said that they were llamas.

When Rowan went to school, she left me home because I was tired. Later, Rowan took me with her to piano lesson. Then we went to the practice for Midsummer's Night Dream. We didn't get back until 9:00.

On Wednesday, Rowan let her mom take care of me. After school, we had three birthdays in Rowan's family. There was Rowan's mom, grandma, and Rowan! Rowan got a family present. Her name is Buttons. She is 60 years old; almost an antique! She is made of cotton, and was an advertisement to make people want to buy cotton sheets for beds. When Rowan's mom was a girl, she drew chicken pox on her.

Disc golf, Art and Peacocks

I spent spring break with Cedar and his family. On Monday, I got to go and play disc golf, which is a real fun game. I tried to throw a disc, but my little wings couldn't hold the disc and also it was sort of heavy. Anyway, why it was fun is a whole different story. I got to watch. They would try to get it in to a basket-like thing that's on a pole. Above the basket was a circular thing with chains hanging from it. Anyway, they tried to get it in the basket in six or less throws. About midway through, they took a break and went on a hike with me, but it wasn't a big part of the day.

On Sunday, I went with Cedar and his family to the Maryhill Museum. They had some neat art and lots of peacocks. I thought I was a weird bird, but not anymore! The peacocks are beautiful, but weird at the same time. In the back, they have really long colorful feathers. Well, the males do. The females are pretty much like me, except without the long beak. Anyway, back to the art. They had sculptures, really fancy puppets, and my favorite - the paintings. They had mountain pictures to farm pictures and everywhere in between.

Happy feet at Eilish's house

On the weekend I went to Eilish's house .
I met her bunnies who are called Jimmy and Frosty. Frosty is the small one who is the size of me, Jimmy is the big one. When we were there I went and played with the birds Eilish took me on the flying fox and in the tree hut. Then Eilish took me up in the tree to look for birds nests. Her sister Caitlin found the first one and I got to sit in it.

Songs with Seth

Seth took me home on the bus. His friend Davey sat with us. Davey let us listen to his ipod. There were all sorts of songs, like Lean on Me from Radio Disney. At Seth's stop, he took me down the steps and we went up his driveway. The next morning, Seth's brother woke me up. We went to the kitchen and Seth gave me some water. He changed into his school clothes and then fed me some cereal. That was good. Very good!

Weekend with Ben

Today, I went home with Ben. He had to finish his math lesson. Then guess what happened? We spent the night at his friend's house. His name was Dylan. We played a game called Skate on his Playstation 3. The next day Ben's brother, Josh, brought a speed board to Ben's house. Ben took me for a ride on it. We were going so fast down the hilll, it felt like we were flying. But the bad thing was that Ben was not wearing a helmet!

On Wednesday Kate and I went to the Aquatic center.Katy,Kate and I had a photo before Kate's swimming lesson.Katy is Kate's swimming instructor.The pool was really warm.I was playing with Georgia Kate's friend the rest of the time. She was swimming lots of lengths.When Kate had finished her lesson we had a bomb competition with Andrew, Matthew's friend and he's in Kate's swimming group.Andrew won, Georgia came second,Kate came third and I came last.The shower was boiling hot.

March 10

Today was crazy, because thie LEGO monster was chasing me after school. I had to climb up a post to get away! Oh, did I ever have such a workout! Tim told me it was just a programmable robot. It was about up to my waist when I'm standing up. Before I knew it, it was time to go home with Tim.

Surprise with Sascha

March 6

Today, Sascha took me home. I was very excited. She told me lots of things that I could look forward to, but the two things that I couldn't wait to see were gymnastics and theater practice! The reason that I couldn't wait for theater was everyone helped everyone with all their problems. It was all just like a big family!

March 7

Sascha told me that today we were going to her cousin Clare's house. I was very excited! When we got there, we started playing, but after awhile we went into Clare's room. We watched a few movies and before we knew it, it was time for bed.

March 8

The next morning, I met the love of my life, Cowie the Cow, Clare's most favorite stuffed animal! Before I knew it, I was spending all hours with her, and the next day we were to get married!

March 9

The day started with a rush. Today was going to be one of the most important days of my life. I was getting married to Cowie the Cow! Cowie looked so beautiful in that magnificent satin white wedding dress. But then the news came! I had to leave my Cowie and to go to someone else!

The good news is that I couldn't wait to go on many other adventures with many other children. The other good news is that when I go home with Clare, I will still be able to see Cowie!

Happy Feet goes to Camerons

On Friday
I went to Cameron's house for three sleep overs and it was really fun.I was really scared of Cameron's puppy when I first saw her.Cameron's brother and parents asked him where he got me and he said, "The class shares him around". At night we were watching The Simpsons, Joey and The Nanny and I like Niles on The Nanny. He's the butler and on The Simpsons I liked Homer and Bart, Homer's a doof. On Joey, three people wanted him on three diffent stages on the same night at the same time and Joey said, "I don't even know the cowboy dance!"Joey did the cowboy dance and Joey's sister said, "Please do that one." At eight o'clock me and Cameron went to bed.The next day we woke up and we had some toast. Oh yeah I almost forgot, Cameron's cat Karen is scared of me and Peanut is scared of him! We played on the play station and I bet him on crash bash. For lunch we had mashed patato top minced pie and it was deeeeeeeeelicious. We took Molly for a walk at Snowdens Bush with Kurtis and Cameron's Mum and Dad. At Snowdens Bush Cameron ran with me in his hands and Molly chased Cameron down the path and everyone had to keep up so they ran as fast as they could after long walk Cameron's Dad let Molly off the lead so she could have a run around. When we got to Cameron's house we had dinner. After dinner we had icecream and I said, "pinch me because I must be dreaming!" Well I'm not dreaming. After the ice cream we went to bed. When Cameron woke up he couldn't find me. After 5 seconds he found me then we got out of bed and had breakfast we had weetbix. Then we went to school by walking. We stopped at Clayton's house to pick up Clayton, Shanee, Holly and Olivia. Molly came with us too. We got to school and Cameron put me on the top of the whiteboard and its time to say goodbye and I yelled "BUT I DON'T WANT TO GO!" At the end of school Cameron threw me to Kate so she can take me to her house and Cameron said, "because she has been caring all day." The end. Oh wait, I almost forgot. We watched Mr Bean and it was fuuuuuuuuunny. The end.

Introducing Happy Feet

As you know cardinal is still recovering from his eye operation so I am here in room 9.They have got 33 children in their class.They don't have their own desks so they can sit at the little table,a desk or they can sit at the floor with a pressing board.I have made about 5 friends.When the teacher is not looking I pop outside and play with the birds.I like running around the back field.

This Week with Morgan

March 3

As I watched the cars pass by, I felt comfortable on Morgan's lap. When we got to her house, Morgan showed me to her little sister, Natalie. I liked her right away. She scooped me up into her little arms and started dancing around singing, "He is so cute!"

March 4

I slept most of the day today, but I woke up when Morgan got home from school. We went outside and Morgan pushed me on her tire swing. You could see the mountains so clearly that night. Morgan took me part way up in the field to look at them. We picked violets that smelled glorious. Then, Morgan's mom called us in for dinner and I went to sleep.

March 5

Today I slept with Natalie's dolls. When Morgan came home from school, we went outside and played basketball. Then we jumped on the little trampoline until Morgan's mom said it was time for dinner.

March 6

Morgan told me it was time to leave today. I was sad, but also happy to meet someone else.

Time with Brittany

On Thursday, I walked with Brittany to her home. When we got there, I took a nap. When I got up it was time to go to Awanas. We played games there and learned Bible verses. The next day, we played outside all day and had fun. Brittany gave me a sweatshirt to wear.

Visit with Jenna

On Monday, Jenna took me to Vancouver, Washington, for her big sister's basketball game. Her sister's team won! I was so happy. Then we went to Jenna's dad's farm in Troutdale. I met Ken and Sharon, Jenna's grandma and grandpa. There's a cat named George at the farm, too. Then Jenna made a nice soft bed for me to sleep in.

The next morning, Jenna woke me and took me downstairs. She let me see her fish named Sparky. He is red, white, and blue. We also played the piano together. Then we just sat down and watched some t.v.

On Wednesday, Jenna came home from school and finished her math. We played outside. It was my last day with Jenna. I am really going to miss her so much! I had a great time with her, like the time when we played the piano together. It was really fun! She taught me how to play a song called Rock Anywhere. The other things we did were also really fun. I am going to see her again in school though.

Cardinal has an accident

Hi Room 8 and Kiwi

I have had an accident while playing with one of the Room 9 children and I need an eye operation. My eye got poked with a stick while playing at one of the children's houses. Summer has been lots of fun. I have been swimming in the river and the sea, camping, kayaking, biking and lots more. I am going to be recovering at a friends house for a while so my friend ted will be sharing his adventures until my eye is well enough.

Sounds like you are being well looked after Kiwi.

On Friday, I went home with Josh. When we got to his house, we watched tv. Yesterday, Josh and I read together. The book was really good.

Time with Tanner

Tanner took me home with him on Tuesday. When we got to his house, he ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Then we went to his cousin's basketball game. He won! Then we went back to Tanner's house and watched American Idol.

The next day, Tanner took me on his trampoline. Then we went to his tree house.

Now I'm back to school.

Hi Kiwi and Room 8, it's great to hear from you again. We have 33 children in our class this year so I am going to be going on lots of adventures again. I can't wait to show you photos of my trips to the beach and the other fun things I do with the children.

Weekend with Colin

A few days ago, I went home with Colin. That night, with his grandparents, we watched a slide show of Colin's trip to Alaska. We saw very nice pictures of bears and moose. On Saturday, we drove all day to the beach. Colin made a dam with his mom, Karen. He also played the piano. On Sunday, I sat around most of the day. I was bored. Colin went to the beach. No fair! He took a ton of pictures. He got pictures of starfishes. He was able to touch sea anemones. I was so jealous, and worried about when he was going to come home. At least I got to rest for the trip home.

Kiwi is Back!

Hi friends in Room 9! I have finally come out of hibernation. Mrs. Handy introduced me to her class last week, and I went home with Colin for the weekend. More about that later. I will be able to visit each of the kids in her class before the end of the school year in June; she has 27 students. We can't wait to hear from you!
